Quick Tips

Distilled water in steam irons

Use boiled or distilled water in steam irons. Barbados' water contains lime, which cause lime deposits to form, blocking the vents, causing the iron to stop steaming.

If your iron is not steaming, pour lime scale remover into the iron, (the same place that you put in water) turn the steam to "off", and place iron face down. Leave overnight. Turn steam to "on" and let the lime scale remover run out. Do this in a sink. Fill with water, and repeat the process until all traces of the lime scale remover is gone. Now your iron will steam again.
