This movie lacks everything that Silence of the Lambs had.
One may argue that Hannibal is under a lot of pressure due
to its extraordinary predessor. Yet the movie itself lacks
a drive, a focus, or a tension between characters. We badly
miss Jodie Foster, Anthony Hopkins (although good) lacks the
aura he creates in the first movie, and the filmakers decide
to throw out the subte, often unspoken, gore that Silence
of the Lambs portrays. We should just pretend that this wasn't
a sequel of Silence of the Lambs. Instead we should view this
movie as simply a bad attempt at a physcological thriller.

My opinion on this movie may be a bit prejudice since I was
looking forward to seeing Jodi Foster up against Anthony Hopkins
as was the situation in Silence of the Lambs.
I found that the movie was a bit slow-paced and could have
had some more scenes with Anthony Hopkins' character doing
what he was best known for (carving up people) and a more
exciting confrontation between Hopkins' character and Julianne
Moore's character.
Despite of the slow nature of the movie,I was in no way inclined
to stop the tape and I think most, if not all Anthony Hopkins
fans would enjoy this film.

Anthony Hopkins is as captivating in this movie is he was
in The Silence of The Lambs. This movie is pretty ok and I
think my opinion might be biased based on the fact that I
read the book before watching the movie. Obviously, the movie
cannot capture the details of the book, but trust me the book
is worth reading.
The pigs in the movie are described so vividly in the book.
As for the "Brain Scene", Hannibal seasoned the brains before
he sauteed them. So for you people who are thinking of having
brains at some time, read the book.
Don't get me wrong it is good, but remember I read the book
first so my opinion might be biased.
