Being
my first event at Vaucluse it was not bad at all. I really enjoyed
every minute. Well as some may know I shared my car with Sean
Corbin and we did not get off to a good start at all. As I started
the drive thru the car started to miss really bad at half throttle
and I thought that maybe it was starving for gas. I managed
to make it through the drive thru and when I got back in the
pits I filled it with gas and it was still missing.
Time flew by and it was time for Sean to do his first Qualifying.
Sean said he would drive it with it missing and hoped it clears
up during the run. Unfortunately it did not and he can back
in the pits with his face set up like a rain cloud.
Two more cars to go and I am up, at this time we have not
solved the missing problem. As I approached the holding area
the car cut out and would not start back. Thanks to Mr. Sean
Lashley we got it started again and all the missing was gone.
Before I could blink twice I was off the line and heading
up the straight, the car worked like a dream, it was the best
I ever felt the car drive (thanks to Mr. Lashley).
I finish my run and did a much better time than I thought
I would have. Well Sean Corbin and my self both finished our
Qualifying and on my last qualifying coming in to the pits
the engine started to sound a little knocky. At this point
we still had the knock out to do. During the lunch break I
put some 90 oil in the engine hoping that it would save it
a little longer. But it didn't. It blew on my first knock
out round. BAM my day finish.
Sean
then was without a car and Geoff Ullyette lent him the old
T10 (right) to do his round. And that's about all. Sean drove
excellent and finished with some valuable points.
Congratulations to all and I really want to thank all the
marshals and organizers of this event. I have sourced a engine
already and hope I will be out for the next event on the 4th
of May.
As for the track I think it's a great track and I hope with
a few changes that Hottie mentioned to me it would be at its
best for the Rally Carnival
